Hey guys, I recently tried making Shepherd’s Pie for the first time and I have to say, it was a hit! This dish is the perfect comfort food – layers of meat, veggies, and creamy mashed potatoes. Here’s how I made it.

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup frozen peas and carrots
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 4 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the frozen peas and carrots, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and dried thyme to the skillet. Stir everything together and let it cook for a few minutes until the veggies are tender.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture into a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  6. Spoon the mashed potatoes on top of the beef mixture and spread it out evenly.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the mashed potatoes.
  8. Bake the Shepherd’s Pie for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

That’s it! This recipe was super easy to make and it tasted amazing. The combination of savory beef, sweet veggies, and creamy mashed potatoes is unbeatable. Plus, it’s a great way to sneak in some extra veggies for picky eaters.

If you’re feeling adventurous, you can also try swapping out the ground beef for ground lamb. This will give your Shepherd’s Pie a more traditional flavor. Or, you can add in some extra veggies like mushrooms or corn to mix things up.

Overall, I highly recommend giving Shepherd’s Pie a try. It’s a hearty and delicious meal that the whole family will love!
