Lemon Bars Recipe: Tart and Sweet

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, butter, and powdered sugar until a dough forms.
  3. Press the dough into an 8-inch square baking pan and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly golden brown.
  4. While the crust is baking, whisk together the eggs, granulated sugar, lemon juice, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  5. Pour the mixture over the hot crust and bake for an additional 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set and lightly golden around the edges.
  6. Let the bars cool completely before dusting with powdered sugar and slicing into squares.
