Classic Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe

Today, I want to share with you my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. It’s a classic recipe that never fails to satisfy my sweet tooth.

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 3/4 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Directions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large bowl, cream the butter, white sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the eggs and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture and mix until just blended.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop the cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheets.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Cool on wire racks.

And that’s it! This recipe makes about 36 cookies, so you’ll have plenty to share (or not).

One thing I love about this recipe is how versatile it is. You can switch up the chocolate chips for white chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, or even add some chopped nuts. The possibilities are endless.
