Dapper Dans and Main Street Citizens: Interacting with Unique Characters
Hey guys! Today, I want to talk about a unique experience I had at Disneyland. I had the pleasure of interacting with the Dapper Dans and Main Street Citizens, and it was a blast!
For those who don’t know, the Dapper Dans are a barbershop quartet that performs on Main Street, USA at Disneyland. They wear old-fashioned suits and hats and sing classic songs. The Main Street Citizens are performers who roam around Main Street, USA, interacting with guests and putting on impromptu shows.
The first time I encountered the Dapper Dans, I was walking down Main Street, USA, and heard their beautiful harmonies. I stopped to watch their performance and was delighted when they asked for volunteers to sing with them. I jumped at the chance and got to sing a few lines of “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” with them. It was such a fun experience, and they made me feel like a part of their show.

Later in the day, I ran into the Main Street Citizens. They were dressed in old-fashioned costumes and had different roles, like a mayor, a newspaper reporter, and a suffragette. They stopped to talk to me and asked me where I was from. When I told them I was from out of town, they welcomed me to Disneyland and gave me a little history lesson about the park.
I also saw them put on a mini-show in the middle of the street. They sang a song about the park and encouraged guests to join in. It was so much fun to see them interact with the crowd and get everyone involved.
Overall, my experience with the Dapper Dans and Main Street Citizens was one of the highlights of my trip to Disneyland. They made me feel like a part of the show and added an extra layer of magic to my day. If you ever have the chance to interact with them, I highly recommend it!
